Holy well or sacred spring, believed to have been used by the Romans. Stone surround built circa 1744, and a 19th century building encloses it.

Natural gritstone outcrop thought to be the source of the name of Ipstones (upper stone, yppe stone or hope stone). Strange circular depressions of an unknown origin are present in the top surface.
