About Cardiff Rugby

A special sesquicentennial kit was unveiled to mark 150 years of Cardiff Rugby, highlighting the club’s long-standing presence in the capital. The organisation fields a first-team side that competes at the highest domestic level and works closely with a network of official partners, including Renishaw, Morgan Sindall, Hugh James, Sacyr and Close Brothers. Beyond elite competition, the club operates the Cardiff Rugby Community Foundation, a charitable, not-for-profit arm that reaches across five unitary authorities. Its programmes extend to 16 Community First cluster areas, 76 community clubs, 61 secondary schools and 320 primary schools, using the sport’s values and heritage to inspire and engage people of all ages, abilities and genders. The foundation targets four strategic strands – health, education, employability and inclusion – delivering a varied portfolio of initiatives that aim to improve social and economic outcomes throughout the region. Leadership of the community work is provided by Community Foundation Director Bronnie Jones and Community Foundation Manager Stuart Clarke, supported by Disability and Inclusion Officer Craig Enticott. Regional officers – Joe Gatt for Vale of Glamorgan, Conor Jones for South Powys, Isla Lewis for Rhondda and Nikkita Olsen for Cardiff – coordinate local projects, ensuring that the rugby brand is embedded in everyday life across the surrounding towns and villages. The club’s recent on-field successes, such as James Botham’s Player of the Year accolade and Alex Mann’s comments on a five-point home victory, sit alongside its broader mission. By harnessing the power of sport, Cardiff Rugby seeks to create lasting positive change, offering a platform where community members can access opportunities, develop skills and benefit from the collective spirit that defines the city.
