About Corstorphine Cougars RFC

Since the Academy’s launch last season, Corstorphine Cougars RFC has broadened its rugby provision, offering structured pathways from Mini Rugby through to senior Men’s and Women’s sides. The club’s community focus means young players can progress within a single organisation, benefiting from age-appropriate coaching and regular competitive fixtures. Senior men’s and women’s squads compete in the SRU league structure, while the junior programme runs dedicated sessions for kids and mini-rugby groups. The club’s calendar also includes away fixtures, with tickets available for supporters who wish to follow the teams beyond the home ground. A club shop supplies official apparel and equipment, supporting members and fans alike. The clubrooms are available for hire, providing a venue for private events, social gatherings and community functions. Safety and welfare are overseen through a dedicated safeguarding framework, ensuring a secure environment for all participants. Membership is open to anyone interested in playing, volunteering or simply staying involved with the club’s activities. Recent news recalls the passing of former captain and coach Ed, a local alumnus of Heriot’s School who later played for Ferranti before returning to Corstorphine. Captaining the side from 1966 to 1968, Ed was also known for his enthusiasm for long-distance running and his lasting influence on the club’s culture. His funeral is scheduled for 10 September, reflecting the deep respect held for his contributions. Based in Edinburgh, Corstorphine Cougars RFC serves as a hub for rugby enthusiasts of all ages, combining competitive play, community engagement and well-maintained facilities. Whether joining as a player, hiring the clubrooms or supporting the teams from the stands, members find a welcoming environment rooted in a rich local rugby heritage.
