About this role
A Consultant Obstetrician with a specialist interest in fetal medicine is required to join a permanent post at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in Worcester. The role involves working across three hospital sites – Worcestershire Royal Hospital, the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and the Kidderminster Treatment Centre – delivering outpatient clinics, providing expert fetal medicine services and leading the fetal medicine and obstetric governance function. The successful candidate will advise on service development, ensure compliance with national standards, oversee quality assurance and complaints, and contribute to audit and governance processes. They will also support junior staff, participate in teaching and maintain continuing professional development in line with Royal College and GMC requirements.
The post carries a permanent contract with a salary of £113,565 to £150,569 per year, inclusive of any applicable on-call supplement. Working patterns are flexible, encompassing full-time, part-time, job-share and other arrangements. Applicants must hold a UK CCT in obstetrics and gynaecology, demonstrate experience in fetal medicine ultrasound and independent clinical responsibility, and be able to lead multidisciplinary teams and teaching programmes. Essential personal attributes include teamwork and the ability to organise complex workloads.
