About this role
The role is for a qualified Neonatal Nurse to join the Special Care Baby Unit at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust in Kent. The position involves coordinating care assessments, leading the ward in the absence of the Senior Sister, mentoring staff, and ensuring high standards of clinical practice within a busy 22-cot unit that includes high-dependency and transitional care beds. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK, be a registered nurse on the NMC register, have a degree-level nursing qualification, hold a Neonatal QIS qualification, and have at least two years of neonatal experience at Band 5 plus one year of post-QIS experience. Essential skills include IV administration, cannulation, phlebotomy, safeguarding knowledge, infection control, digital literacy for NHS systems, and the ability to work under pressure. Desirable experience includes mentoring junior staff and leading a neonatal team. The post is permanent, offered under the Agenda for Change pay scheme with a negotiable salary for Band 5, and follows a full-time or part-time working pattern.
