Relief Kitchen Assistant (Multi - Site)

Relief Kitchen Assistant (Multi-Site) is a casual position within Jewish Care’s Catering & Hospitality team, covering shifts across its Golders Green, Hendon and surrounding Barnet sites. The role involves basic food preparation such as chopping vegetables, making salads and sandwiches, setting up dining areas, serving hot and cold dishes and drinks, and keeping environments clean and hygienic. Assistants also operate the till and cash up when required, stepping in to fill staff absences on a flexible basis. Shifts typically run from 7 am to 3 pm, with occasional weekend work, and while the post is permanent, hours are not guaranteed.

The role seeks someone with recent experience in a busy kitchen, solid communication skills and good literacy and numeracy. A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is required or the willingness to obtain it, and a willingness to undertake further training such as supervision or NVQ is essential. The hourly rate is £14.80, and the position offers a permanent contract with part-time working patterns across the North West London services.
