About this role
The role is for a qualified Sonographer to join the Ultrasound team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, delivering diagnostic imaging across four sites including Nottingham City Hospital, Queens Medical Centre, the Nottingham Treatment Centre and the new Community Diagnostic Centre. The position rotates between these locations and involves working within a busy department that provides both obstetric and non-obstetric services, including GP-linked scanning, vascular studies and inpatient imaging.
Applicants must hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Essential experience includes independent practice in obstetric and general medical ultrasound, the ability to produce diagnostic reports on at least 95 % of examinations, and demonstrated skill in triaging workloads and communicating results to patients and clinicians. Desirable experience includes gynaecological ultrasound and a commitment to teaching and mentoring junior staff.
The post is permanent, falls within Band 7 of the Agenda for Change pay scale (£49,387 to £56,515 per annum, pro rata), and offers full-time or part-time hours with a flexible pattern that may include early starts, evenings and weekend work. A full induction, ongoing CPD support and access to nursery facilities on each campus are provided. Applications close on 16 October 2026 and must be submitted through the original advert.
