Activities Programme Assistant

About this role The position is based at the Michael Sobell Jewish Community Centre in Golders Green, where the assistant will help deliver day services for older people across the general community programme and the new Dementia Community Centre. Working 30 hours a week Monday to Thursday, the role involves planning and delivering activities that promote social connection and wellbeing, adapting sessions to individual needs, and supporting members who may experience distress or changes in behaviour.

The employer seeks someone with experience working with older or disabled adults, confident in delivering person-centred support and able to communicate sensitively with families, carers and volunteers. While prior experience in a dementia service is not essential, awareness of dementia and a willingness to learn are valued. The role offers a permanent contract at £14.80 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to safeguarding, risk management and transport arrangements, as well as to support volunteers and collaborate with external professionals.
