Consultant

The role is for a consultant psychiatrist to join the women’s secure service and the SCFT at St Bernards in Uxbridge Road, Southall, London. The post involves five clinical sessions on Damson ward and five sessions within the SCFT, with responsibility for the on-call rota and strategic development of the team alongside the team and locality managers.

Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practise, with a place on the GMC Specialist Register or the ability to gain approval within three months of appointment. Essential experience includes work in general adult psychiatry with complex emotional needs, evidence-based knowledge of forensic and neurodevelopmental psychiatry, and strong written and oral communication skills for multi-agency reporting. Leadership ability, decision-making based on evidence, and a commitment to inclusive, compassionate leadership are also required.

The post is permanent, full-time and falls within the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay band, offering a salary of £113,565 to £150,569 per annum. Applications must be submitted by 25 October 2026 via the original advert.
