About this role
The role is based in Basildon, Essex, and involves leading strategic development across maternity and neonatal services within the Perinatal Health Clinical Service Unit. The postholder will work closely with clinical leads, the Divisional Clinical Director and other senior managers, contributing to service planning, workforce development and the delivery of safe, high-quality care. The position is part of the Directorate Management Team and will act as a key advisor to the Director of Nursing and the Trust Executive Board.
Applicants must be a registered midwife with a significant record of continuous professional development and hold a masters degree or equivalent experience. Essential experience includes substantial budget management, particularly in cost reduction and corrective action, and strong written and oral communication skills for presenting complex information. Desirable experience includes prior work at Band 8c level and demonstrable change-management expertise.
