Employment Specialist - Step On, Mental Health Services

About this role An Employment Specialist within the Step On team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be based in Stafford and will manage a caseload of 20-25 service users receiving secondary mental health care. The role focuses on helping these individuals move into paid work or higher education, using the Trust’s Individual Placement and Support model and providing ongoing, needs-led support.

The post requires a professional with proven experience of working with people experiencing mental health challenges, ideally within health or social-care settings, and a solid grasp of vocational and welfare-benefit issues. Candidates must hold a degree-level qualification or equivalent experience, be trained in IPS or willing to complete a diploma, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and basic counselling skills. The position is offered on a fixed-term, full-time basis for 12 months, falling within Agenda for Change Band 5, with a salary of £32,073 to £39,043 per year.
