Health Care Support Worker - Acute Respiratory Unit at Fairfield General Hospital offers a permanent position within the fast-paced Acute Respiratory Unit on Wards 11a/b, where the role involves working alongside registered nurses to devise and deliver personalised care plans for respiratory, general medical and ENT patients. Duties include assisting with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, nutrition and accurate record-keeping, all carried out to the standards set out in the Care Certificate.
Applicants must hold Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths grade A-C) and have experience as a care support worker in a health or social-care environment, with a Care Certificate also required. Desirable skills such as venepuncture, ECG or cannulation and competence in physiological observation monitoring are advantageous. Essential abilities include clear written and verbal communication and basic IT proficiency. The role is paid on Band 2 of the Agenda for Change scale at £25,272 per annum, pro-rated for part-time hours, and includes access to a generous annual leave allowance, flexible working patterns and protected time for health and wellbeing activities.
