Pharmacy Technician

About this role A Pharmacy Technician vacancy exists within the pharmacy department at HMP Gartree in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, working as part of a four-person team that manages dispensing, prescription rewriting, stock control and medication checks for a 700-bed male prison. The position is permanent and follows a 37.5-hour week pattern of 7.30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Sunday, with a weekend shift required once every four weeks.

The role calls for a qualified Pharmacy Technician who is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and holds a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent. Essential experience includes post-qualification practice, up-to-date knowledge of Continual Professional Development and the ability to work unsupervised while adhering to strict operating procedures. While experience in a hospital, community or secure environment is desirable, it is not mandatory. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom and will undergo vetting and a Disclosure and Barring Service check as part of the appointment process.

The annual salary ranges from £34,428 to £41,658, reflecting the full-time hours and experience level.
