Place of safety worker/ Health Care Assistant

The role is a permanent position based in Plymouth, working across the Children and Young Persons Place of Safety Suite and the Plym Bridge inpatient unit. It involves supporting the coordination of Section 136/135 admissions, accompanying detained individuals during assessments, and delivering physical, social and psychological care under the direction of a registered nurse. The post holder will facilitate activities in the POS suite, work as part of a nursing team on the unit, and contribute to care plans, record-keeping and incident reporting, with opportunities to co-facilitate groups and participate in training. The position operates within a 7-day service and requires competence in mental health care, health and safety legislation, and confidentiality.

The role offers a permanent contract with a salary of £25,760 to £27,476 per year, pro-rata, within Band 3 of the Agenda for Change pay scheme. Hours are 37.5 per week, with flexibility for full-time, part-time, or job share arrangements.
