Principal Clinical Psychologist The role is based in Exeter, Devon, within the Exeter and East Devon multidisciplinary Learning Disability teams of Devon Partnership NHS Trust. The position is part of the Clinical Psychology department and involves providing specialist psychological services to a defined population of people with learning disabilities across the region.
The role requires a senior professional with experience in intellectual disability, including complex assessment and formulation, design and delivery of multicomponent interventions, and the use of at least two therapeutic approaches such as Positive Behaviour Support, CBT or DBT. Candidates must have experience in psychometric assessment and a strong understanding of current evidence bases. The post involves clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams, supervision of junior staff, and contribution to service development and governance. The post holder will manage a specialist caseload, provide consultation, and ensure psychological services are delivered in line with Trust policy and professional standards. Working patterns are full-time with flexible options, and the role is offered on an Agenda for Change Band 8a salary scale of £57,528 to £64,750 per year.
