About this role
The role is a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute Medicine within the Acute Medicine department at Bristol Royal Infirmary, part of Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. The position is based in the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit and the Acute Medicine Assessment Unit, involving work on ward shifts (09:00–17:00) and SDEC (10:00–18:00), with potential involvement in the Acute Medicine Clinic and AKI Clinic. The successful candidate will provide senior leadership, contribute to service development, and may participate in on-call duties at a frequency similar to other specialty registrars.
The post requires MRCP or equivalent medical qualification, MRBS or equivalent, and current UK professional registration. Essential experience includes confident assessment and resuscitation of acutely ill patients, participation in cardiac arrest teams, clinical governance understanding, and Specialty Care experience in the UK. Desirable attributes include audit experience, leadership with multidisciplinary teams, and skills in managing acute emergencies such as ALERT IMPACT certification. The role offers a fixed-term contract of 12 months, part-time hours, with a salary of £67,325 to £77,348 per annum.
