About this role
Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is advertising a Senior Neonatal Fellow to work in its St Michael's Hospital NICU. The role involves clinical duties at ST4+ level, providing care for the most critically ill newborns, and contributing to the unit’s regional tertiary and supra-regional services, including neonatal transport. The position is available on a fixed-term basis for six to nine months initially, with the possibility of extension, and can be taken as a full-time or part-time appointment. Candidates must hold a recognised paediatric training post, be registered with the GMC, and have at least twelve months’ experience at ST4+ or equivalent in neonatal medicine within the NHS. Essential qualifications include a medical degree, full MRCPCH or equivalent, and a current NLS provider certificate. Desirable experience includes work in a large tertiary unit, additional neonatal or paediatric subspecialty exposure, and involvement in teaching, research or quality improvement projects. The post falls within the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay band, with a salary of £67,325 to £77,348 per annum, pro rata for part-time hours. Applications must be submitted by 25 October 2026 through the original advert, with further details available on the NHS Careers website.
