All Age Safeguarding Deputy Designates (Place Based)

The role is a permanent, full-time position based in Bristol, working from the office on Temple Street and from other locations within the BNSSG and Gloucestershire area as needed. It offers a salary of £57,528 to £64,750 per year, placed within Band 8a of the Agenda for Change pay scheme. The post is aimed at an experienced safeguarding practitioner who can move into a senior strategic leadership role, supporting statutory designations for both children and adults and contributing to strategic commissioning across the integrated care board.

Applicants must be a registered health professional or social worker (NMC, HCPC, GMC or Social Work England) and hold a master’s level qualification or be working towards one. Essential experience includes postgraduate-level safeguarding knowledge, supervision skills, digital literacy and a thorough grasp of national safeguarding policies and health-policy implications. Essential communication, analytical and planning abilities are required, along with the capacity to negotiate complex issues, manage teams and work autonomously in a politically sensitive environment. Desirable experience includes project management techniques such as PRINCE2 and budget-holding responsibilities.
