Catering Assistant (Ward Operatives)

The role involves serving meals, cleaning kitchens and equipment, preparing food items and regenerating cooked meals for patients across Southmead Hospital’s catering facilities, with occasional cash handling duties. The position is based in the central Production Kitchen, Restaurant or Regen Ward Kitchens in Bristol and forms part of the hospital’s catering team that supports patient care across three hospital sites.

Applicants must currently work in catering and hold or be able to obtain within three months a Level 2 Foundation certificate in Food Hygiene. Desirable experience includes recent catering work within the past three years. The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis under the Agenda for Change pay scheme at Band 2, with a salary of £23,615 per annum (FTE), subject to pro-rata adjustment for part-time hours. Full training is provided before undertaking specific duties.
