About this role
Timeout Children’s Homes is seeking a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join its therapeutic residential childcare team in Ripponden, West Yorkshire. The role is rooted in delivering evidence-based CBT assessments and interventions to children and young people aged 6-17 who have experienced abuse and neglect, within both residential homes and specialist schools. You will work across multiple sites, including Ripponden Mill, Brookland School and Brearley Hall, collaborating closely with care staff, teachers, social workers and external agencies to embed formulation-driven treatment plans and promote emotional resilience.
Applicants must hold an accredited CBT qualification (BABCP) and a postgraduate CBT qualification, with demonstrable experience of working with children who have complex emotional and behavioural needs, particularly those in care or looked-after services. Essential attributes include strong formulation skills, the ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and a solid understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding procedures. Desirable experience includes work in specialist educational settings or with trauma-focused CBT approaches.
The post is permanent, part-time, with a minimum of three days per week, and offers a salary of £47,810 per annum pro rata, dependent on experience. Applications close on 23 October 2026 and must be submitted through the original advert; the role requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check and may involve Skilled Worker sponsorship.
