About this role
The Children’s Epilepsy Nurse Specialist post is based at York Hospital in North Yorkshire and offers a permanent Band 6 role within the Trust’s paediatric neurology service. The postholder will assess and support children with new and ongoing epilepsy diagnoses, coordinate care across clinic, ward and home settings, and contribute to nurse-led follow-up clinics and school visits. Applicants must be a Registered Children’s Nurse (part 15 or part 8 equivalent) with recent experience of paediatric epilepsy management, a recognised teaching or assessing qualification, a full driving licence and the ability to work independently. A specialist qualification in epilepsy is essential, while a recognised teaching qualification is also required; experience of child protection issues and a driving licence are mandatory.
The position is paid on the Agenda for Change scale at Band 6, with a salary ranging from £39,959 to £48,117 per annum pro rata for 22.5 hours a week over three days, plus a relocation package of up to 30 % of salary (capped at £18 k) where applicable.
