Consultant in Neonatal Medicine

The role involves providing fixed clinical sessions across neonatal intensive care, high-dependency care and special care at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, as well as high-dependency sessions at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital. The postholder will manage outpatient follow-up, share antenatal counselling duties in the fetal medicine unit and take part in resident night cover, with shifts organised through an annualised roster. A permanent full-time contract is offered, with a salary between £113,565 and £150,569 per year. Applicants must hold a recognised medical degree, be fully registered with the GMC, be on the specialist register in neonatal medicine or be within six months of a CCT, and have at least seven years of postgraduate experience, including three years in neonatal training posts. Essential qualifications also include current NLS certification and demonstrable advanced clinical skills. Experience in teaching undergraduates and supervising junior doctors is required, while desirable experience includes higher degrees, research activity and management of clinical services.
