Consultant Psychiatrist in General Adult Psychiatry-PCLS

The role is a permanent consultant post in general adult psychiatry, based at Sandalwood Court in Swindon, working within the Primary Care Liaison Service. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership for a single CMHT catch-area, assess and manage patients, supervise junior doctors and respond to advice-and-guidance requests from GPs and other health professionals within a three-to-five-day window. The position is full-time and falls within the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff pay band, with a salary ranging from £113,565 to £150,569 per year. Applicants must hold a recognised medical qualification, be fully registered with the GMC and be on the Specialist Register (or within six months of obtaining a CCT), and demonstrate experience of assessing and treating adults in both inpatient and community settings. Essential personal skills include the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team, manage workload and communicate clearly with patients, carers and colleagues.
