DSL & Welfare & Safeguarding Lead

About this role The DSL & Welfare & Safeguarding Lead at Nene Park Academy in Peterborough will provide strategic oversight for safeguarding across the academy, ensuring that all child protection matters are addressed promptly and in line with statutory guidance. The role involves managing referrals to the safeguarding platform, triaging concerns and making decisions on outcomes for vulnerable pupils, as well as supporting house teams in the completion of Early Help Assessments and working directly with families to promote academic, therapeutic and pastoral outcomes.

The position requires a qualified Designated Safeguarding Lead with a strong educational background and proven experience of working within multi-agency frameworks in a school setting. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as is the ability to maintain confidential records in accordance with GDPR. The role is full-time, working 37 hours per week across 52 weeks, and offers a salary of £44,253 per annum on the Meridian Trust pay scale (Grade 11, Points 32-36).
