About this role
About this role The role is a permanent locum Consultant Gynaecologist with a subspecialty focus on reproductive medicine, based at Liverpool Women’s Hospital and the Hewitt Fertility Centre in Knutsford. The post supports the delivery of acute gynaecological care across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales, while contributing to the specialist team that manages infertility treatment, IVF cycles and related procedures.
Essential requirements include GMC specialist registration, MRCOG, an RCOG subspecialty accreditation in reproductive medicine and a higher degree such as an MD or PhD. Essential experience covers clinical work equivalent to a UK CCT in obstetrics and gynaecology, hands-on expertise in oocyte collection, embryo transfer, advanced ultrasound and reproductive surgery, plus a proven record of peer-reviewed publications and supervision of junior staff. Desirable additions are further postgraduate qualifications, RCOG intermediate laparoscopic accreditation and active research involvement. The post offers a flexible 10-PA job plan, full-time hours, weekend and on-call commitments, and access to mentorship, training and research programmes within a large NHS group dedicated to women’s health.
