About this role
The role is a fixed-term locum post for six months, based at Frimley Park Hospital and Heatherwood Hospital in Hampshire, where the post holder provides a full Orthopaedic Hand service. The duties centre on hand and wrist elective clinics and operating, with responsibility for outpatient work at satellite sites including Fleet Hospital, Farnham Hospital and the Aldershot Centre for Health, and for contributing to multidisciplinary meetings and service development.
Applicants must hold a recognised FRCS in Orthopaedics, be fully registered with the GMC and have completed a fellowship in hand and wrist surgery. Essential experience includes broad orthopaedic and trauma training, the ability to teach clinical and operative skills, and to apply research findings to practice. Desirable management experience and Fellowship of the British Orthopaedic Association are also sought. The position offers a salary of £113,565 to £150,569 per annum, is full-time and operates on a flexible pattern that may include weekend working.
