Matron - Maternity

Matron - Maternity at Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust offers senior midwifery leadership within a busy maternity unit delivering around 7,500 births annually. The role is based at the Trust’s Crown Street site in Liverpool, L8 7SS, and involves overseeing clinical quality, safety standards, infection control and patient experience across the maternity service. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, drive service improvement, and ensure care is compassionate, woman-centred and consistently high-quality.

Applicants must be a registered midwife with a degree or equivalent in midwifery, at least three years’ experience at a senior level, and demonstrate proven team-management and leadership skills. Essential qualifications include a teaching or mentorship credential and evidence of continuing professional development; a management or leadership qualification and master-level study are desirable. The post is permanent, full-time and falls within Band 8a of the Agenda for Change pay scale, with a salary of £57,528 to £64,750 per year.
