Welton is a large village and civil parish in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish was recorded as 4,327 in the 2011 census. It is geographically situated 6 miles (9.7 km) north from Lincoln, near the A46, and serves as a hub for surrounding rural communities. The qualifier "by Lincoln" distinguishes it from similarly named Lincolnshire villages, including Welton le Wold and Welton le Marsh.
