About this role

The 18-week RTT Team Leader role is based at the Unipart House Business Centre in Oxford and reports to the Elective Access Manager within the Elective Care division of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This fixed-term position supports the delivery of national Referral to Treatment standards across the Trust’s elective services, providing direct leadership to the corporate RTT Validation Team responsible for maintaining accurate patient pathways and tracking lists. The post holder ensures compliance with the Trust Elective Access Policy while managing daily validation workloads, prioritising work across cohorts, and producing reports that inform service planning and risk reduction. Working closely with clinical and operational teams, the role focuses on improving data quality, reducing pathway risks, and supporting the Trust’s commitment to timely elective care delivery.

The role offers a salary of £32,073 to £39,043 per annum, pro rata, under the Agenda for Change pay scheme, Band 5, for a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract. Candidates must demonstrate significant NHS administrative or operational experience, with proven ability to lead teams in high-pressure environments, manage complex data systems, and ensure strict adherence to national RTT rules. Essential requirements include strong organisational skills, proficiency in information systems, and experience in validation processes within healthcare settings. The position provides an opportunity to develop leadership capabilities while contributing directly to patient access standards and service improvement within a major teaching trust.
