About this role The position is a Buyer within the Services Contracting Team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust in Taunton. The role is home-based with a requirement to attend County Hall on Tuesdays and for occasional team meetings or site visits. It is offered as a fixed-term contract for 20 months, falling under the Agenda for Change pay band 4 with a salary of £28,392 to £31,157 per year.

The Trust seeks a candidate with solid administrative and organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities and working confidently with stakeholders. Essential qualifications include a good standard of education with passes in Maths and English, and proven experience in a large-organisation environment, preferably with supplier negotiation. Desirable attributes comprise an NVQ4 or equivalent, a CIPs qualification, and experience of public-sector procurement processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is required, along with strong communication and analytical skills.
