Childcare Assistant - After School Club

About this role The role involves supporting the after-school club at Wolvercote Primary School in Oxford, working with children aged four to eleven in a modern indoor setting and extensive outdoor grounds. The position is part of the River Learning Trust and the duties include supervising play, organising sports and games, and overseeing snack times to promote wellbeing and personal development.

The school seeks candidates with proven experience of working empathetically with children, a solid understanding of child development, and the ability to encourage positive play and outdoor activity. Strong communication skills, resilience and adaptable problem-solving are essential, as is the enthusiasm to share personal interests with pupils. The post is permanent and term-time only, with hours agreed at interview between 2:45 pm and 6:00 pm. Pay is £13.49 to £13.70 per hour, pro-rated to Grade 4.
