About this role

An opportunity exists within the Children’s Occupational Therapy Department of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, based at Palmer Community Hospital and the Sunderland Children’s Centre on Durham Road, Tyne and Wear. The role involves working with children and young people to enhance functional independence, participation and well-being through tailored therapeutic interventions. You will manage a personal caseload, prioritise referrals and collaborate closely with families, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, mental health teams and the 0-19 service. The position requires HCPC registration, a degree in occupational therapy and substantial experience in paediatric practice, together with up-to-date specialist continuing professional development. Strong assessment, communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to contribute to safeguarding and discharge planning within a multidisciplinary setting.

The post is offered on a fixed-term, bank contract for three months, falling within Agenda for Change Band 6 at a rate of £21.57 per hour. Shifts are full-time and flexible, with access to learning and development, wellbeing resources and annual leave.
