Clinical Psychologist

The role is a part-time, permanent Clinical Psychologist position within the Older Adult Community Team in Newcastle, based at St Nicholas Hospital on Jubilee Road. The post is set at Band 7 under the Agenda for Change pay scheme, with a salary of £49,387 to £56,515 per year pro rata. The appointment will involve psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of older adults and their families, neuropsychological work in the Memory Service, and opportunities for supervision, teaching and service development within a multidisciplinary team.

Applicants must hold a doctoral qualification in clinical psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Essential experience includes specialist psychological work with older people across outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings, and the ability to manage complex, emotive cases with professionalism. Desirable experience includes teaching, training or supervision, and knowledge of multicultural frameworks or relevant legislation. The role requires the capacity to teach using complex multimedia resources and to uphold clinical governance in challenging circumstances.
