About this role
The role is for a Mental health Practitioner within the Connect Team 0-18, a specialist therapeutic service for children in care across Suffolk. The position is based at Walker Close in Ipswich and involves hybrid working with the team also operating from Ickworth Lodge in Bury St Edmunds. The post is fixed-term, offered initially at 0.4 whole-time equivalent for twelve months, with the possibility of a 0.8 WTE appointment for six months considered. The salary ranges from £39,959 to £48,117 per year, pro-rated, and falls within the Agenda for Change Band 6.
Candidates must be registered nurses, social workers, occupational therapists or equivalent professionals with relevant post-qualification experience. Essential experience includes delivering clinical interventions, managing a caseload and providing mental health care to children, young people and their families, together with knowledge of attachment, child development and systemic practice. Desirable qualifications include a higher degree or postgraduate certificate in a therapeutic field, and training in suicide prevention and management. The role requires competent assessment, care planning, risk assessment and the ability to work autonomously while contributing to multidisciplinary meetings and multi-agency collaborations.
