About this role
The role is based in the Bereavement and Family Support team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, working from the main hospital site on Tremona Road. The position is a fixed-term appointment lasting twelve months, with the possibility of extension, and reports to the Bereavement Lead. It involves coordinating sensitive referrals, managing communications with families, maintaining accurate records using Trust systems and Excel, and liaising with clinical, mortuary, coroner and council services. Essential qualifications include a good standard of secondary education, an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience, proven administrative and organisational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in a healthcare or customer-focused environment is required, while experience within a clinical setting or multi-disciplinary team is desirable. The post offers a salary of £28,392 to £31,157 per annum, falling within Agenda for Change Band 4, and provides access to NHS discounts, a minimum of 35 days paid leave pro rata, and a generous pension scheme.
