R&D Finance Assistant- Operational Finance

R&D Finance Assistant-Operational Finance provides administrative and financial support within the Research & Development Finance function at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. The post is based at the Trust’s main site on Tremona Road, Southampton, and works as part of a small finance team that processes invoices, requisitions and journal entries in the Oracle financial system, maintains control accounts, and assists with monthly management reporting. The role offers exposure to research-funding budgets and the chance to develop analytical skills while contributing to accurate financial records for research units.

Applicants must hold an AAT Intermediate Level or equivalent NVQ Level 3 qualification, together with GCSE Mathematics and English at grades 9-5/A*-C or equivalent experience. Essential knowledge includes basic finance procedures such as petty cash, VAT and financial systems. Desirable experience is previous clerical, finance or customer-service work. The position is permanent, falls within Agenda for Change Band 3 and carries a salary of £25,760 to £27,476 per year. Working patterns include full-time or part-time options, and the Trust promotes flexible working arrangements.
