Dental Practitioner

A locum dental practitioner is required to provide clinical care at HMS Collingwood Dental Centre in Gosport, Hampshire, for the Ministry of Defence. The role involves delivering a full range of dental treatment, maintaining oral health and operational fitness for service personnel, and undertaking administrative duties as needed. The post is part of a fixed-term assignment lasting 11 weeks, with shifts organised in two sessions that must include at least 6.5 hours of direct patient contact each day. Work is recorded on the electronic health record and related documentation must be completed accurately.

The position offers an hourly rate of £55.98, with weekly payments and the option to choose a payment model. Candidates must be fully registered with the General Dental Council without restrictions, hold indemnity insurance, and demonstrate recent clinical activity of at least two sessions per week over the past 15 months. Completion of mandatory CPD in medical emergencies, safeguarding and radiation protection, as well as current emergency resuscitation training, is essential.
