Pharmacy Technician

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is offering a fixed-term Pharmacy Technician post at Southampton General Hospital, with a salary of £32,073 to £39,043 per year. The role is part of a progressive band 4/5 framework that can lead to a permanent band 5 position after competency assessment, and it is classified as a secondment lasting up to 12 months. Applicants must be a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council, hold a BTEC or NVQ level 3 in pharmaceutical sciences, and be able to demonstrate accurate dispensing, customer interaction and some experience of staff supervision; desirable experience includes hospital pharmacy work, stock control and familiarity with JAC or similar systems. The post follows the Agenda for Change pay scale, provides access to NHS discounts, a minimum of 35 days’ paid leave pro rata and a generous pension scheme, and requires weekend, evening and bank-holiday shifts as part of the rota.
